I purchased this car last fall as a winter project with the intention of racing it in some local events where there weren't a lot of cars entered in my other car's class. Unfortunately, a chronic wrist problem which made me get out of FV's a couple of years ago made its presence known and I have finally accepted that I simply can't comfortably race a formula car after twenty years of doing so. CHASSIS: Very safe design with good side and roll over protection. Welded steel belly pan. I added aluminum side panels to supplement the Kevlar in the bodywork. The car easily accommodates a tall driver; I am 6'1" and have five inches clearance to the top of the hoop and two inches under the straightedge test (that's with the seat in place). I had Tangerine Racing in Manchester, CT move the steering box to a position above the driver's legs to get the pitman arm away from the feet as when I purchased the car even my size 9.5s hit it. The firewall has been modified/replaced. Car weight with one gallon of fuel is about 840 lbs. BRAKES: I believe Carbotech shoes, dash mounted bias adjuster SUSPENSION: Penske rear shock with remote adjuster. Custom valved QA1 front shocks from VSR. Height adjustable front beam POWERTRAIN: Dave Carr of Autowerks did an engine rebuild in June, 2015 including line boring the case, replacing the crank with a blueprinted one and balancing it, new valve guides, new "special" springs, spacers and retainers which came to $2117. New Pertronix ignition module. New wires. The engine has a less than an hour of track time on it since the rebuild. The manifold is a VSR/Autowerks "monster" type. VSR shortbox. Coated Roxanne header. BODY: Newly painted by Underground Auto in Thompson, CT in PPG Radar Blue, which was used on the '98 Corvette Pace Car edition and really pops in sunshine. The body is a modified BRD which is available from Vallis in Ontario. Since the paint job there have been a couple of chips put in the paint from track use. SAFETY: In addition to the new side panels, the fuel cell was covered in new sheet metal as it wasn't fully enclosed. Fuel lines in the cockpit were replaced with braided lines. The halon fire system is new to the car (charged, not brand new) and all new plumbing and nozzles were used. A thick new headrest was installed. New Racequip formula car harness, FIA approved through 2020. WHEELS/TIRES: Includes one set of mounted two heat cycle Hoosier slicks (slightly flat spotted, oops!), one set of mounted four heat cycle Hoosier slicks, and a set of mounted Hoosier rains. MISCELLANEOUS: LED rain light, new gauges and dash including VDO oil temp and pressure gauges, a Speedhut Revolution tachometer with stepper motor, integral shift light and peak replay and an LED low oil pressure light. Remote battery plug. Brand new battery. New SPA mirrors. SPARES: Will include oil filters, rear axle nut helping tool, misc. gaskets, mirrors, ignition parts, new fuel pump, starter bushing, throttle cable, axle seal kit, new Italian front drum, rear drums, coil, distributor, build spindles left and right, turkey legs, brake shoes, pistons/jugs (unknown condition), prepped intake manifold, Haynes manual. This car literally needs nothing except fuel and tire pressures checked to be put on the track. Current annual inspection, SCCA logbook. I will be letting it go for a substantial loss considering what I have invested in it but I'd rather see it on the track somewhere than sitting in my shop. Will help with shipping and may be able to provide delivery under negotiable terms. I have described this car to the best of my ability but it is a race car and the purchaser assumes all responsibility for its use, no warranty.
