Description:
This is one of the most classic and formidable F5000 cars
of its era, with a genuine and recorded history from the
day it was built.
It has been totally restored to it's original colour
and specification. Unraced since restoration, it is a runner but has not
circulated at speed since it was restored. It is not race-prepared but
instead accurately restored to as-new condition. It could be race-ready
with the addition of some non-period safety equipment (such as a fire system) and a go-through.
Some of the plumbing might want updating to modern materials as all original-spec equipment was used.
It's restorer is a professional race mechanic and race-quality hardware and fasteners were employed in
the restoration.
It is accompanied by an embossed
History
The McLaren M10 was a very famous and successful racing ear
in both European and American Championships. A sister car
driven by Peter Gethin won the Europeon Formula 5000 Championship
in 1969 and 1970.
This car was built in 1969 by McLaren, and sold
on the 14th, June 1969 to Sir Nicholas Williamson as a hillclimb car. In 1970 he
won the British Hill Championship, the car was then converted
to "B" specifications by the works for circuit racing.
