1989 Porsche 962C Brun Motorsport - SOLD

This is now SOLD. Search for similar items.

Description:

One of the John Thompson honeycomb clones built for Brun Motorsports, this car is in very original
condition as raced by Huysman and Larrauri in 1989 and 1990. Still in it's original Hydro
Aluminium blue and yellow livery it is an excellent prospect for an historic career.

History

The Porsche 962 was introduced in 1984 as a development of the successful 956 with a longer wheelbase
and a pedal box behind the axis of the front wheels in order to comply with the IMSA GTP regulations.
The works Group C Porsche 962s made their debut in the Group C World Championship in 1985 after FISA
had aligned its pedal box rules with IMSA.
The Porsche 962 accumulated 14 World Championship victories in the 1985, 1986 and 1987 seasons, but
soon faced tough opposition from Jaguars and Sauber-Mercedes.
