Description:

This car has been raced for the last two years in the FIA sanctioned Thoroughbred Grand Prix (TGP) championship.
It has undergone a thorough restoration and comes with current FIA papers.
It is now due for a renewal of the crack testing of the critical suspension components, but the current owner is ready to carry it
out at extra cost, if the buyer so desires.

History

The 008 was the car used by Tyrrell during the 1978 Formula 1 season.
Designed by Maurice Philippe, it was a conventional design with shallow aluminium monocoque, double wishbone front
suspension with inboard springs/dampers.
Results in the 1978 season included a win at Monaco with Depailler at the helm (chassis n° 3) and Tyrrell finished 4th in the
Constructor's championhip, which was an achievement considering the fact that competition was tough in this first year of
ground effects, which the 008 lacked.
Five cars were built and this particular example was driven by Didier Pironi.
Pironi's race results with this chassis are reproduced below :
USA (west): retired
Monaco : 5th
Belgium : 6th
Spain : practice only (Patrick Depailler)
