Description:

This unique and beautiful vehicle was built in 1990 by the 190 SL experts at Sports Leicht of Tapsfield MA.
It was designed and built to be the personal car of the firm's founder at a cost exceeding $100,000. It is both a
competitive vintage racer and a comfortable, streetable sports car. Its condition can only be described as
concours as evidenced by numerous awards and a feature story in the Jan/Feb 1992 National Mercedes Benz Club
magizine. It is also a competitve VSCCA eligible race car regulary finishing at the front of its class (Prod racers under 2L).
It tours Lime Rock under 1m 13sec.

History

The car began as a 190 SL convertable and unlike later SL's has the advantage of aluminum doors, door posts
and engine/trunk lids. It was completely disassembled, media blasted and trued before being rebuilt with all
the best available period correct components, some of which were custom fabricated. The overall goal was to build
an aesthetically-pleasing car that could win its class and then be driven home in comfort and style. By this standard
the car is a resounding success!
