1978 Zink Z14 Water Cooled Project - SOLD

Car is completely disassembled. Car is 95% complete. Package has lots of spares, plus a treasure trove of vintage SV parts, engine, trans, brakes, fuel injection Includes engine, Hewland w/ Zink adapter, extra wheels, Intake systems. It had a wheel banging (left front) hit, spun, damaging wings, The front subframe needs a little straightening on the LF mounting tab. Rear wing needs repair, new end plates. Chassis is apart, right side panel still has a crease from a 1980 hit in a pro race, Easy to make a new panel if you have a 6' brake for 2 90* bends, assemble with rivets and glue. I have new front wings for it, and the original rear wing mount. The subframes, rollbar, engine bay all there There are 2 sets of bodywork (blue, and red/white/ black)nose mould. one nose is great, other body need some repairs. Transaxle is mostly apart, all looks well with all parts, plus some spares, bell housing adapter is present (something that is critical for a restoration). Engine block is still together, spins freely (I've kept it oiled), aluminum dry sump pan on it. Original Shrick head needs a repair to a follower bore, spare heads with similar issues are included. The later 2 heads are brabham and Bertils. The original Shrick/Kugelfisher Injection, cam cover, adapter is all there, including air scoop, There are boxes of engine parts, all 1600cc, like the engine. Original Brakes, plus spares. Original suspension, uprights. Wheels; Revolution 3 piece wheels, 2 ea 8 x 13, 2 ea. 13 x 13 " cast front 1 ea. 6 x 13 (one gone in accident) Minilite style, 2 ea. 6 x 13 old tires. Ran west coast Pro SV Mini Indy, SCCA Formula Continental w/ lap records, National wins, and Road America runnoffs in 1981. The Z14 went through several stages. The first version was an air cooled FSV and that car was very competitive, taking pole positions at the first oval races for FSV cars. As a vintage racer project, it has the critical provenance, chain of log books, old photos including 1981 JB calendar... Justice Brothers, longest running race car calendar in the world.

The Zink comes with all 3 logbooks, covering all its history. Book 1 has 79 133 as ID # issue by and signed John T. Timanus 2/7/79 Timanus is a legendary name in SCCA.Ran west coast Pro SV Mini Indy, SCCA Formula Continental w/ lap records, National wins, and Road America runnoffs in 1981.
