1965 Ginetta G4 R factory "R" Model ready to race! Fully independent rear suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, 180HP Twin Cam 1600cc Ford, Quaife internals 4 sp Ford gearbox 1184 lbs. Fiberglass body over wet wrap early round tube Ginetta chassis/frame. Fully restored by Tony Ingram. Raced extensively last 14 years with HMSA, CSRG, General Racing Limited and SVRA. Last run Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2014.


History

This G4 R was sold new to Harvey Smith of Worchester Racing a UK privateer in 1965. It was raced in the UK for two years and sold to a woman for street use. The car was imported to the US by Tony Ingram and restored completely including the removal of the wet wrap sections of the bodywork to assure no frame corrosion. It received the Rolex Best Presentation and Performance award at the 2009 Monterey Historics from Steve Earle. No accidents, well looked after, all original parts replaced including original bodywork retained when restored. Titled in California to retain serial number and authenticity. Present ownership last 15 plus years.
