Elva Racing Components U.K. and Vintage Racing Services Inc. USA was completed

History

The Mark VIII is the last in a long line of Elva Sports Racers. Based on
the highly successful MK VII and VIIS, the Mark VIII took then state-of-the-art technology one
step further. Though sold without engine and never officially campaigned as works models (the
company was in dire financial straights with the mark VIII their last pre-receivership model), the
cars were very successful in the US where Carl Haas spearheaded the effort. They featured
rocker arm front suspension, advanced aerodynamics, rigid chassis design and a number of other
innovations putting them a notch above the Lotus 23s and other 2 liter and under competitors of
the day.

Competition History

Numerous events (approximately 50) with many first
in class finishes. Reliable with few DNFs and a number of enduro finishes to it's credit. 1
accident, Summit Point, May 1994 resulting in primarily cosmetic damage.
