Description
The Ilmor Chevrolet 265A Indy Engine was first raced during the 1986 season by Penske Racing with Al Unser Sr. driving. From 1987 through 1992 the engine was used by several CART teams and won 73 races including the 1988,1989,1990,1991,and 1992 Indy 500. This engine is for display and mock-up purposes only. It has damaged and missing components and cannot be made into a running engine. It is an excellent display engine or can be installed in a 265A powered Indy-Car for museum or display purposes.
History
The build records indicate that this engine was raced by both Patrick Racing and Chip Ganassi Racing.
