History

Turner Sports Cars was founded in 1950 by John H. (Jack) Turner who had previously manufactured wheels and other racing components. The cars were designed and built by the founder. A total of about 670 cars were built from l950 to 1966 when production ceased. A feature of all Turners was a simple yet effective chassis constructed from large diameter steel tube. The body on all models was comprised of a glass reinforced plastic (GRP) outer skin over a sheet metal inner body with aluminum doors (aluminum outer skin stretched over a GRP inner molding) which sat atop the chassis.
