RACE READY TR4 VINTAGE RACE CAR MEETING THE 1972 SCCA GCR AND PCS. IT HAS MOST OF THE SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS THAT TRIUMPH RACERS HAVE CREATED IN THE LAST FEW YEARS INCLUDING A SOUTHWICK REAR AXLE CONVERSION AND ALUMINUM FRONT HUBS. IT HAS A NITRIDE HARDENED CRANK, RACE PREPPED RODS, KASTNER G-3 CAM, ALUMINUM FLYWHEEL AND 87 MM PISTONS, SHORTENED UPPER A-ARMS FOR NEGATIVE CAMBER, TRIUMPHTUNE FRONT SPRINGS, SS BRAIDED LINES, FRONT ENGINE DAMPNER AND A REAR SEAL KIT, MOROSO 3 QUART ACCUSUMP, FIRE SYSTEM, CLOSE RATIO OVERDRIVE TRANNY AND ELECTRIC FAN. THE PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE IN THAT I AM WILLING TO PULL THE OVERDRIVE, CLOSE RATIO GEARBOX AND REPLACE IT WITH A 4 SPEED TO LOWER THE PRICE.
History
JUST RETURNED FROM A GREAT WEEKEND AT THE GOLD CUP AT VIR! WHAT A TRACK. THIS TR4 WAS RACED IN SCCA BY STEVE LUDEKER IN THE ATLANTA AREA AND THEN IN SVRA. I'VE RUN IT IN VINTAGE WITH CVAR, SVRA, RMVR, VARAC AND NOW WITH VIR.
Recent Competition History
FINISHED 3RD IN CLASS IN BOTH THE TRIUMPH FEATURE RACE AND THE CLASS A RACE AT THE VIR GOLD CUP RACES, THE CAR IS A CONSISTENT POINTS CHAMPION IN CVAR DP CLASS, BASED ON STARTING AND FINISHING RACES AND ON ORIGINALITY TO THE SCCA RULES.
