Winner of multiple ACRL pro series championships, the 2006 S2Cup championship, and more than 50% of all races entered. In its current Elite Pinto configuration, this highly modified chassis has won 16 of 20 races since 2005, and set qualifying and/or lap records at Sears Point, Laguna Seca, and Buttonwillow. As evidenced by the following build specification and photos, the car is prepared to an exceptionally high standard, and is almost entirely fresh, with only 2007 Runoffs testing and race time on a comprehensive rebuild. Current specs: -Custom extended wheelbase chassis with direct motor to tub interface, elongated/webbed engine bay trunions which triangulate the rollhoop, rolled 4130 bellhousing extension insert, and modernized suspension geometry developed by a Swift factory engineer. - New .090" 6061T6 floor with countersunk rivets and .090" sponson leading edge flanges by Victor Hertfelder, 2007 - New .063 6061 T6 rear firewall bulkhead, 2007 - New custom 4130 engine bay trunions with webbed gusseting, 2007 - New custom lower 4130 trunions, 2007 - WRD/Taylor Staffs transaxle: brand new case and ring and pinion late 2005, complete WRD ultra, ultra low friction blueprint, 2007 - Ohlins TT44 triple adjustable shocks, fresh 2007 - Elite motor: 2007 Runoffs testing and race time only. DB5 Chassis# 001 was sold new from the factory to Swift board member Peter Zarcades as the very first DB5, with a unique polished tub as used in factory promotional materials. It was initially piloted by Bill Fickling during Swift's shakedown testing at Willow Springs and used to set the baseline for all DB5s thereafter. Subsequent to this rollout, the car was raced and extensively developed in Pinto and later Cosworth guise with great success by Zarcades and Lenny Gay, who maintained the car until 2004. Seduced by my exposure to Zarcades' rigorous and highly experimental program during their ACRL seasons together with Team Las Vegas, the current owner purchased chassis #001 in 2004, returned the car to Pinto configuration, and continued its development. The car comes complete with all logbooks, running records from every single lap turned, chassis torsion test results, etc - 17 books in all which document EVERY moment this car has ever been on the track: from its 1990 shakedown through the 2007 season. Between these 17 year bookends lie a myriad of Pro and Club race wins, lap records, and championships…and an almost endless list of proprietary developments: extended wheelbase, contemporary suspension geometry, structural enhancements, and innovative aerodynamic treatments.
