Description
Car had nut and bolt restoration 2002-2004. It was origially TwinCam powered until early 70s when repowered by a Porsche specialist w/ a 2L 914 engine for the Pa. Hillclimb Championships, which it won in 75&76. It was on the Royale stand for the London Race Car Show in 1970 that was highlighting the Firestone F100 Sports Racer Series in the UK. Ray Heppanstal ran this car for its first owner after purchasing it from Bill Scott, an early Royale dealer.After restoration, it has been raced approximately 7 hrs.
History
US distributor bought car from London Race Car Show stand 1970, first US owner raced B Sports SCCA w/BRM twin cam( Ray Hepanstall crew chief). Subsequently damaged, puchased by Dennis Fricke and repowered w/Porsche Type 4 engine for Pa Hillclimb Championships, which he won in '76&'76.Passed through several owners until I purchased and restored car. Hank Clarkson built engine. Raced by me and developed 2003 and 2004, culminating w/ FTD Mt. Tremblant Sept04.It has not raced since and has low hrs on chassis and engine,
