Description
This is a purpose built Score Off Road Series truck. It is race ready with lots of development time and
money spent on building a winning truck.
|
History
The original truck was built at Cal Polly as an Engineering project. The two main Engineers on the project were; Brian Kadella and Rick Sturkow.
Brian is now the main Engineering Designer for the MacPherson Racing Team, who is sponsored by Chevrolet.
Rick now works for NASA and commands the Space Shuttle.
The first person to drive the truck was Roger Mears. Roger took 1st place at Riverside, the first time out,
and he campaigned the truck for Cal Polly for a few years after that, always finishing well untill the truck was
retired.
Gordon Azavedo, as a hobby project, purchased the truck from Cal Polly. After several years of rebuilding,
Gordon decided to race the truck. He contacted the present owners to drive it and after three years of racing
the truck always finished in the top three and finished it's final season 2nd overall in points. Those finishes
were impressive enough to catch the attention of Toyota Racing Development, and they asked if they wanted to
build and race a '98 Tacoma Extra Cab. Of course they agreed. This truck has been retired and is being offered
for sale.
