Description
This vehicle was built from almost entirely new parts as a project for inclusion in the British magizine
'Race Tech' where its design, construction and operation were discussed in detail, (see the Pashley Project, Volume 1 Issues 1,2,3 and 4
and Volume 4 Issue 2.)
The chassis is a very stiff space frame constructed in square steel tube principally of 3/4" and 1"
section ans of 1 3/8" diam. X 14 swg seamless steel tube.
The suspension is all inboard mounted and consists of TraxSpax coilover damper units operated by pushrod
bellcrank at the front and pullrod/bellcrank at the rear. The brakes are discs all round and were supplied
by Brembo as were the calipers, both items are as used on the rear wheels of British Touring Car racers.
The wheels are of Dymag origin 8" wide at the front and 10" wide at the rear, two sets will be supplied
with the car one of which is fitted with Avon hillclimb compound slick tires (there are only two meets on these)
and the other fitted with cut slicks for use in wet conditions.
The car has been driven in a limited number of hillclimbs and sprints (approx 20) during the 1997 and 1998
seasons and due to lack of time has not been used since September of 1998. In the intervening period it has
been maintained and regulary run and is ready (and legal) for use in RACMSA approved events.
