Description This car has had every Pantera "problem" corrected. Brakes, cooling, clutch effort, wheel bearings, have all been updated or improved. The resulting car is what the Pantera should have been from the beginning. The car has barely 10,000 miles since a complete engine and gearbox rebuild and has a total mileage of 56,600. The engine specification was significantly improved at rebuild (see below). The car has a California smog legal engine and chassis. The interior has been extensively redone.

History

Engine

• High performance, professionally rebuilt 351 Cleveland four-bolt main, performance cam and hydraulic lifters, double roller timing chain
• Aluminum intake manifold and Holley 650 CFM mechanical secondary double pump carburetor, new Holley fuel pump and fuel lines
• Mallory photo-optical electronic ignition with high-energy coil and Jacobs 9mm. silicone, porcelain-end ignition wires
• Factory GTS exhaust headers and mufflers
• Oversize cooling system with 3 row aluminum radiator and dual upgraded cooilng fans with thermostatic control
• Upgraded air conditioning system with new rotary compressor, belt tensioner update, new freon lines, updated condenser fan wiring
• New water pump, stainless steel coolant tank and new updated thermostat mount to ease valve cover access
• 120-amp, large-frame alternator, fabricated tensioner bracket, electronic regulator, and diehard battery (5/96)
• Epoxy-sealed gas tank

Gearbox

• ZF Transaxle, ring and pinion saftey wired and seals replaced at engine rebuild time
• Clutch pedal effort reduction system installed, new clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing at engine rebuild time
• Updated shifter linkage with new trunion bearings

Final Drive

• Spicer rear drive shafts and ujoints (4)

Body

• Vader square headlight conversion with replaceable lamps professionally installed

Chassis

• corrosion in structural areas repaired at time of engine rebuild
• Front Suspension: Front wheel bearings replaced 5/96, Delrin suspension bushings with grease fittings, Koni shock absorbers
• Rear Suspension: Rear uprights have tapered roller bearings installed to eliminate play and failure due to torque. Lower pins were replaced with greasable type also for greater longevity.
• Steering: Steering rack rebuilt with new bushings and seals with bump steer improvement modification
• Brakes: Willwood super-lite racing brakes, including oversize rotors, magnesium calipers, power boost unit, street pads, and stainless steel braided brake lines
• Wheels: Original Campagnolo Wheels, 15x8 rear and 15x7 front, Tires are Goodrich T/A, four wheel alignment 5/96

Interior

• Pantera Yellow, black interior
• New custom carpets with matching DeTomaso floor mats
• LeCarre leather steering wheel with DeTomaso logo, leather shift knob with logo
• Professionally installed Sony ES cassette deck with 10 disk U400 CD changer in front trunk. Also an ADS 100 watt x 2 amplifier and MB Quart 3-way speakers in the doors.
