Anglia Cars in Great Britian constructed a series of racing cars to be campaigned in the new International Motorsports Association (IMSA) Camel Light GTP Series in 1985. Utilizing a monocoque chassis consisting of bonded aluminum honeycomb panels and shouded with the latest carbon fiber skin. With the success of Rotary Engine GT race cars in IMSA from previous years, American IMSA Champion, Jim Downing commissioned Anglia Cars to construct a chassis to accomodate the highly competitive Mazda 13B Rotary Racing Engine. Over the years Downing heavily modified this chassis into what you see here today. It is the Most Successful GTP Racing Car ever! Fully race ready and truly exhilerating to drive.
American Racing Champion Jim Downing commissioned Anglia Cars to construct what was to become the Only Three Time IMSA GTP Championship Race Car ever! Utilizing the race proven Mazda Twin Rotor 13B Factory Racing Engine this ARGO/Mazda Won the 1985, '86 & 1987 IMSA Camel Light Championships. Along with 2 drivers titles for Jim Downing in IMSA. Winning 10 races in IMSA with a host of podiums as well. Over the year beating the likes of Spice,Tiga, Porsche and others. Highly successful in Historic Racing, Winning the Historic GTP Series a record six times and a record four times overall! More than 50 Historic GTP class wins as well. It is likely the Most Successful GTP Race Car Ever!
