History

This 1988 Argo was produced by Anglia Cars in East Anglia, UK. The company was formed by highly regarded Swiss designer Jo Marquart who had proven his worth at McLaren, Huron, GRD and Modus. Initially concentrating on F3 in 1977, the firm experienced mixed success in F3, Super Vee and Atlantic before moving on to endurance cars in the mid 1980's. Several models competed on both sides of the atlantic powered by numerous engines from Mazda rotaries to Cosworth V-8's. Chasis number 124 (also it's car number for the 1988 Lemans)was enterted by France Prototeam, Jean Messaoudi and P.F. Rousselot with Cosworth DFL power and Speedy mufflers as the prime sponsor for both '88 and '89. The Speedy Argo's race history at LeMans is well documentd in the LeMans yearbooks as well as in event videos. After the '89 LeMans, the car was purchsed by and remained in a German museum until 1999, when it was purchased by Erhard Mororsports of Elsbethen, Austria. Erhard coverted the car to Chevy power and entered several hillclimb events. I purchase the car from Erhard in late 2000
