History
This car was originally owned by the Machinists Union Team and was assigned to Josele Garza as a backup car for the
1987 Indianapolis Motor Speedway 500 Mile Classic. Being that Poncho Carter was his teammate he was allowed to qualify
the car as he had destroyed his own during a practice session. Pancho was unhappy with his qualifying speed
and the car was withdrawn from the race.
The following year Kevin Cogan was the assigned driver and again, car #015 was designated as the
backup car.
At the close of the 1988 season the car was purchased by Rob Lazier as a practice car for his son
Buddy. Buddy Lazier went on to win the Indianapolis 500 mile race.
