March 82C Indycar CART#288, USAC#1690, original in every detail, including Turbocharged DFX with zero miles since rebuild, Weisman 5 speed transaxle and perfect chassis and body. Set up for road racing, it comes with mounted wets and spare ratios. The car is race ready, has a new fuel cell, and must be one of the best early 80's Indycars available today.
History
Built by March engineering in 1982 for the H&R Racing Team, sponsored by Provimi Veal and driven by Tony Bettenhausen, CART#288, USAC#1690. Qualified 27th at Indianapolis and finished 26th. It competed in 10 of the 1982 Championship races with best results being 4th at Michigan and 5th at Pocono. In 1983 it was raced by Derek Daly and Dennis Firestone, who qualified 33rd at Indianapolis and finished 24th. Derek Daly raced the car successfully ate Road America, Ohio, Las Vegas and Phoenix. In 1984 the car used as a backup car, and was subsequently sold and passed through a number of owners but was rarely raced.
