A fine example of the Championship Winning March 80A. Fully sorted and race ready less engine after a complete renovation/rebuild of chassis and gearbox in July 1999. The engine was sold recently.
History
Campaigned in 1980 by Jeff Wood and Shierson Racing. The car ran nine (9) SCCA and WCAR events between December 1982 and June 1984. Sold in October 1984, but not raced again until July 1988 (one year as Formula Atlantic, then two years as C Sports Racer). The car was stored until 1999 rebuild, then raced C Sports Racing Class at Sears Point and Laguna Seca, setting lap records at both tracks, before being returned to it's original Formula Atlantic configuration later in the year. The car then scored an overall victory in the 1999 SCCA Laguna Seca Vintage Race after starting at the back of the pack of a 20 car field. Set fastest lap of 1:28.293. The owenr has all Doug Shierson Racing records and set-up sheets for all 1980 Atlantic Pro races. The car ran three (3) SCCA races in 2000 (2 1st place, 1 DNF/engine related).
