Description
This car was carefully restored by the present owner (Seann Burgess) over the last ten years. Nothing was overlooked, this car is a true "Labour of Love". All mechanicals rebuilt with new parts everywhere. Brand new rear wing, nose and engine cover (with molds). Every piece of this car has been either glass beaded, stripped, painted, polished, plated or whatever it took to make it look like the day it left the factory. Every bearing (engine, transaxle, wheel hubs, etc., has been changed. The car has been painted in the original livery - DRC Racing green/Bruce Macinnes #66. All decals have been applied to match the car as it ran (as part of a two-car team w/Ron Cohn in 73/74). The car had a shakedown session at Shannonville to run in all the fresh components and everything checks O.K. The car is race ready.
History
This car was campaigned by Bruce MacInnes in '73/'74 as part of a two car team with Ron Cohn, under the "DRC" (Davis Chant Racing) banner. Both cars were painted British racing green, Ron # 56, Bruce #66. Bruce helped me with the loan of many photographs from the early days which I had copied for the scrapbook, and used for much "forensic" studying for finishing off small details of the car. The #66 car was purchased from the team in '75 by Joe Ostrowski from New Jersey who ran the car with help from his dad in eastern SCCA races. I purchased the car from Joe in the spring of '82 and raced the car in 82&83 winning the Ontario Region CASC Championship, also earning several lap records. In 1982 I competed in three Pro Atlantic races with a best finish of 10th at Mosport in a nine year old car! In 1985 the car ran the last race of the season in the SCCA Can-AM Series and a few selected races in 86&87. Because of the late '85 race the chassis is officially Grandfathered by SCCA as a "Can-Am" Car. The modifications to run Can-Am were all "bolt-on" pieces as the original March pieces had been designed. The car has been returned to its original condition in every detail.
