Description:

This car has been the object of a very complete and historically accurate restoration. An early car which was updated to 23B spec it is fitted with a full race twincam dynoed at 185 HP. Cosmetically the car is flawless and mechanically it is in as new condition. The car has been little raced since the restoration but has been properly maintained, with periodic runups. When the car was last seen at a race meeting in 1995 the owner was told by several members of the Lotus 23 User's Group that this car was one of the most historically correct they had ever seen.

History

The original owner was a "W. Molle" of California. He sold to Jerry Rosenstock. There exists an ownership gap of several years then the car reappeared on a race team driven by Jeff Kline. The car then went to the owner who performed a complete restoration over 5 years. The current owner was told by the Lotus 23 User's Group that this car is the Pike's Peak record holder driven by Unser.
