Description
This example of the landmark Lotus 18 has been raced in U.S. historics since the mid 70s. Purchased
by the current owner about two years ago in purported race-ready condition it was found to be far short
of that description and he set about performing a complete ground up. Sparing no expense he commissioned
Richardson to build a proper 1100 with a new Richardson head. The Renault 318 was completely redone and
multiple spares obtained. The car has finished 3rd and 2nd in the last two outings and the engine was
new prior to the last race. The car is accompanied by an unbelievable spares package.
History
The car is known to the Historic Lotus Rigister. It was sold by the works in England in November,
1961 via the Autosports agent. The car remaind in England until the mid 70s when it was brought to the
U.S. There it has competed in Historic Racing for the last twnety years. From the mid 70's to the mid
80s it competed in the SVRA. It was then configured for the VSCCA where it has remained to the present.
