1972 Lola T-242 Formula Atlantic Roller

Description

The car has undergone a complete tub-up rebuild. Every nut, bolt and washer has been replaced with AN hardware of proper length and grip. All welds have been inspected and repaired as needed. Additional safety side bars have been added that fit below the body line and provide side impact protection for the driver. They can not be seen from the outside and use already existing mounting points. All fabrication has been done with respect for the car's originality. Any pieces made are fabricated in the style of the period.

This car has been rebuilt, not restored to pristine condition. The tub has not been polished. It has been built to race, not show. Although many items have been replaced you can not tell new items from the original (with the exception of Aeroquip fittings and AN hardware.) It is exceptionally sound and will make an excellent race car. Minor assembly is still required (electrics, etc.)

In addition to the items listed below the following work has been performed:

• All wheel bearings inspected, repacked and pre-load set.
• New rear lower wing brace fabricated and coated
• New upper and lower radius rods fabricated and coated
• Oil cooler bracket coated
• Lower gearbox suspension bracket braces fabricated and coated
• Lower gearbox suspension bracket coated
• Tub to gearbox suspension bracket braces fabricated and coated
• Fuel pump rebuilt
• New high capacity fuel filter installed
• Fuel cell rebuilt by aircraft fuel cell company
• Fuel surge tank adapted for inspection
• New Aeroquip fuel line (#6) installed
• New water pipes installed
• New water hoses installed
• Original radiator boiled out, cleaned and checked
• Firewall between driver and engine fabricated
• Front sway bar coated
• All heim joints inspected and replaced as needed
• All suspension pieces either polished, repainted or coated
• All wheel locating pins replaced or renewed
• Clutch slave cylinder rebuilt
• Clutch line replaced with Aeroquip steel line
