This car was originally built for Les Lindley, a leading independent racer in the Trans-Am series. It was intended to take advantage of numerous rule changes that occurred, along with some stock advantages that the new Mustang allowed. Raced one T/A event. Those involved with the building of this race car were Pancho Weaver, of Weaver Racing Concepts, Dave Dralle, of Dralle Engineering, Fischer Engineering and Doane Spencer. Weaver is well known for his front running Trans-Am chassis'. Dave specializes in racing developments for Ford products. Construction began with a Ford factory fresh "body in white" unibody pulled from the production line for the specific purpose of building a race car. At the time the rules still required a car to be built from a stock chassis. This allowed the stock unibody to act simply as a shell to be developed into a Trans-Am race car. The engine is a solid mounted to the frame rails and has been moved back 7 inches, and lowered 2 inches, to better balance the car. This was done by Doane Spencer of Hollywood Sports Cars.
