History
The MkII F2 car was larger than the T41 with a modified chassis and bodywork that made it appear substantially
solid .In the first part of 1957 cars were run with FWBs, but the power unit normally used was the twin cam Coventry Climax FPF.
At some point in 1957 an enlarged FPF was created, and entrant Rob Walker had a T43 with bigger fuel tankage built
to run in F1 events. As the story unfolded, the first Cooper Climax to run in a Grand Prix was a F2 car rushed
together after Brabham had a practice accident in the Walker car at Monaco. At one point in the race he was running third
but ended up pushing it to the line in sixth place.
A works F1 car followed in which Roy Salvadori scored two World Championship points.
