Description
This car was originally built as a hill climb car and then converted into a SCCA GT-5 car, competing at Road Atlanta. The car was in storage for a number of years due to an engine failure, broken timing chain, and then I purchased the car in 1998. The car was then converted into a vintage racer with the fiberglass doors, flares, etc. removed and replaced with new steel components. All areas of the car were gone through and repaired or replaced as needed. The car was then repainted with a base-clear process. The engine was rebuilt and the transmission gears were replaced with new components.
History
The original SCCA log book was lost and a new log book was reissued on March 15, 1985. The log book number is 03-530. There are "temporary pages" attached to the log book dating from 3/17-18/84. There are a total of 19 events shown all of which were at Road Atlanta. The last entry was 7/20-22/90. The car was then placed in storage.
The car has competed at IRP, with VSCDA, and at VIR, with SVRA. These are the only two events since the restoration was completed.
