1998 Motorola Cup SS Camaro. Built from new factory body by GM and Strudwick Race Cars Mosport. This is one of several Camaro's built specifically for the Motorola Cup Series. This car competed in only 2 Motorola Cup events and 10 CASC Ontario Regional event's between May 1998 and May 20, 1999. Car was retired due to lack of owner interest after the May 20/th 1999 Mosport SCCA Trans Am event. I purchased the car in the Spring of 2002 and ran 8 CASC Ontario events, last being Sept.13/14 2003. Due to health reasons I was not able to acquire a licence in 2004 & 2005. My son's used the car 2005 for Solo 1 school and part of one event when the LT 1 HOT CAM equipped engine exspired. I replaced the engine with a NEW FACTORY CORVETTE LT1 and entered the CASC BEMC May 13/14th 2006 race at Mosport finishing 3rd in GT B. Best times were high 1.37 on the 2.5 mile track running on Sunoco 94. The car was raced in 4 events in 2006 and accumulated 576 miles on the engine. I also have put in a complete remanufactured rear end assembly in since the last race due to ring and pinion failure. The car also has NEW brake pads and great rotors plus extra set of rotors. The front ROTORS are Corvette 13 inch dia. with dual piston calipers, rears are factory SS Camaro. This car is STRAIT and FAST with great cornering and STOPPING capabilities. With a NEW MOTOR and REMANUFACTURED REAR End & Auburn DIFF. it's RACE READY. REMEMBER this was a FACTORY NEW BODY built to MOTOROLA SPEC. and has been stored inside all its life, NO RUST OR BENDS. History
I don`t know the previous owner race history. I have raced this car in 8 CASC GT B events on the old LT1 Hot Cam engine at Mosport with best times of 1.38. With the new Factory Stock Corvette LT1 I am getting the same times with more reliability. Please see more History in the Description section. CASC GT B High lites 1st place May 10/11 2003 3rd place May 13/14 2006 Best results was at the Mosport Victoria Day Speed Fest May 19/20/21 2006 were I finished 3rd overall against all GT classes.
