Description
vintage gt-1 or historic production or imsa you tell me! lots of good stuff already done on this car, needs some safety upgrades to be ready to race,i.e. fuel cell, new harness (or re web simpsons)perhaps a fire system and a better(safer)seat. car was reportedly built by jim petersen in the seventies and raced at mid ohio, ran in club events in san francisco area until 2000, ran in historic events in mexico until last summer.the 427 block engine was rebuilt at a reported cost of $12000 about two years ago an ran for no more than 2 hours since.it has no logbooks and may have more history? i don't know! the penske paintjob is not particularly good and is strictly tounge in cheek! the body is race car rough (stress cracks and spider cracks in the paint)although it looks pretty good! all there and solid.has jfz brake calipers and massive two piece rotors.cage is very nicely done with good welds. gauges are a mix of new and old but they all work ,except for the fuel pressure gauge (i unhooked it because it ran fuel into the cockpit!)tires are good , goodyear bluestreaks.brake pads are new .build codes as follows D9 S2517 66 467 974AA.
History
i cannot say for sure, reportedly raced by jim peterson at mid ohio in the seventies(early)and club raced in san francisco area by michael kieth. vintage raced three times in mexico city by christian courtney 2001-2005
