HISTORIC IMSA / KELLY AMERICAN CHALLENGE RACE CAR with documented history. Built to IMSA racing specs in 1978-9. Ran at Brainerd, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio & Road America. Pro built with tube connected uni-body sub-frames, beautiful 8 point cage, modified front clip & cross member, weight jack front suspension w/Pro shocks tubular upper control arms, stock lowers. Original fiberglass body work w/steel roof, re-located 1 & 1/4 " sway bar. Panhard bar, Halibrand 4.11 quick change rear end w/locker. Howe 4 wheel disc brakes w/dual masters & remote resevoirs, Wilwood clutch master, Weaver dry-sump pump, Moroso oil tank & AN braided lines, Aluminum radiator, all Auto Meter fluid filled guages & tach, remote switch & control box (all wired). MSD box & Blaster coil, SCP power steering pump (w/lines), resevoir & bracket. 22 gallon Fuel-Safe cell w/good bladder & foam. Aluminum Kirkey seat w/Simpson harness. 10 X 15" steel wheels w/used Goodyears. 331 cu in. race engine & T-10 transmission available. CAR IS BEING SOLD AS A COMPLETE ROLLER. History
Car, built and raced by Don Axtmann, ran in many Kelly-American Challenge Series & IMSA events...Brainerd, Mid-Ohio, Charlotte, Road America, etc. 1978-82. Went on to run in some GT-1 SCCA races in mid to late eighties & early nineties and was then put in dry storage. I have race event programs and photos to document the above events entered.
