Description

First run for Keke Rosberg in the Tasman series by Fred Opert, this perfect historic Atlantic car was professionally restored by Wehrmann Engineering having no miles since completion. In the course of restoration it has received a new engine, new tub, refurbished trans, new seat belts, new trunnions and track rods, all new AN fasteners through out, all suspension renewed or replaced, new exhaust system, new starter, new oil lines, new cooler, gauges checked, new steering wheel and quick release, new brakes and clutch lines, calipers rebuilt, new front rotors, radiator serviced, new splitter, new tires, etc.

Gearbox is the Original Hewland FT200 with no case damage. All mag parts were stripped, inspected and remagnesium chromated. New ring and pinon, inner track, outter track, plungers (chicklets), all bearings, dog rings, t/o bearing, and fasteners. Forks jigged and shift gate narrowed. No running time since completed.

This magnificent car truly reminds us that we are all involved in the Art of Motor Racing.

History

This car was first driven by Keke Rosberg as part of a two car team with Bobby Rahal in the 1978 Tasman series, run by the US importer, Fred Opert. A number of period photos of both cars accompany this listing. Rosberg's car (this car) was #1 and Rahal's car, chassis 06, carried number 2. These photos were taken by Greg Neaves at Baypark Raceway at round one of the five meeting, 10 race series. The other rounds were at Pukekohe, the NZ International GP meeting, Manfield, Wigram and Teretonga Park. The car was later run by Opert for Divina Galica at Long Beach 1978. It was then sold to an American owner and has been in US ownership to this day.
