Description
A comprehensive restoration was completed on the car 1995-2001. Dave Irwin of Lime Rock Motors rebuilt the frame. The transaxle is rebuilt. All magnesium castings have been crack tested and chromate or keyfos finished. the rear uprights are new. Ted Wenz of MWE built the engine. The car appears in the original livery in which it competed in the North American Continental FB series in 1971. The car has only competed in two races since completion. (The owner is beeing too modest. I know him and his restorations and the car is as good as it gets, period. ed.)
History
the car was originally purchased and raced by Lana Lader in 1971. It was raced four times:
5/09/71 SIR Kent WA, National, 1st 5/23/71 SIR Kent,WA, Continental FB, 1st 6/20/71 Monterrey, Mexico, Continental FB, 1st 7/27/71 Mexico City, Mexico, Continental FB, crashed out After the Mexico City crash the car was sold to Fred Opert. It was resold to Carl Whitney and later to Ken Duclos. The current owner purchased the car from Duclos in 1994.
