Description
Originally built to compete in DTM 1972 thru 1974 German Road Race Series these cars were the forerunner of the BMW 320 Turbo cars. This particular car is in excellent race ready condition and has received all the proper safety and reliability updates without comprimising its original look. The best of everything was used during its rebuild. This car has not been totally restored only the braking system, engine, transmission, electrical etc... has been rebuilt, the rest of the car still carries its real look. the car has an excellent spares package including extra engine etc.
The engines are based on the late seventies BMW F1 turbo blocks. The car currently has two race events on the engine currently installed in the car, the other engine is fresh. 425 hp @ 15 lb boost or 645 hp @ 25 lbs boost.
This car was rebuilt by a top Trans-Am team and was designed to be reliable and fun, it is very fast and ready for a year of vintage racing. All the original parts are included.
History
The history of this car includes German Road Racing Championship 1972-'74. Replaced by the 320 Turbo. Group 5 club racing in Canada and the USA in the early '80's.
Recent Competition History
1st overall and pole at the Meadow Brook Historics 1.13.02 9/06/01. SCCA Super Production at Mid-Ohio 1.31.91, and many other test days.
