Description
Built by Alfa Corse in 1999 for use in FIA Super Production, this particular 156 won the Italian Touring Car Championship driven by Luis Villaamil. Subsequently the car was imported into the UK by Gary Ayles, GA Motrsports concern. In 2001 the car competed in the BTCC under the GA Janspeed banner with Gavin Pyper drving, the young Scot recording a number of podium finishes. In 2002, GA Motorsports ran the car fo Alan Blencowe who achieved 3 podium finishes on his way to 7th in the championship. In 2003 the car was used for a limited BTCC campaign, with Chris Ryan taking a memorable win in the wet at Mondello Park. Sold, the car was run by Brunswick Automotive in the 2005 Britcar championship and the 2005 Nurburgring 24 Hour Race. Unraced since 2005 the car is offered with a freshly rebuilt Brunswick Automotive prepared engine and correct Bacci dog box with LSD. The engine has a steel crank and rods, JE forged pistons, Jenvey throttle bodies and EFI Euro 6 managemnet. The car has 3 way adjustable Penske shocks, many WTCC suspension upgrades, Brembo racing brakes, air jacks etc.
