Description
The fastest original Mini Cooper in Asia. A full race no- expense- spared uncut original Austin Mini Cooper. Originally registered in New Zealand, it was converted to a race car in the mid 90's and raced successfully in the Mini Super Series. I purchased the car in 2005 and imported it to Singapore. The car was rebuilt by David Works Garage (Singapore's Top Classic Race Engineers) to high race spec but with original paint etc and raced in Asia's Fastest Classic Car Series (HKCCC at Sepang) in 2006 where it won Class A with 12 straight wins. The car was stripped and fully repainted and lightened and all components uprated to highest available spec to race in 2007 (again by David Works Garage). The car came second in 2007 on a countback due to my missing some races due to business commitments. The car was rested in 2008 and again rebuilt with new engine for 2009 (again by David Works Garage). As the car was too fast for Class A (<1800cc/1000kg) we put it up to Class B (<2700cc/1000kg) with very minor changes, which due to consistent placing and some wins, but no failures, managed to win the class against top class 240Z, BDA engined Mk1 Escorts and a moderately prepared 3.0l+ Porsche. The car is a Sepang favourite and has featured on ESPN "Engine Block" and many websites. Video of the car can be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PZvbrGcBW8, www.youtube.com/watch? v=aQ9eRklu6tU, www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOEjgGFpphk or by searching "fezzafella" on Youtube. The car has lapped Sepang F1 full circuit in 2m40s and Sepang North Circuit in 1m23s both faster than all but the best race prepared WRX's or Integras. Ask anyone about this and they will tell these are very fast, especially for a 1275cc push rod engine. I am reticent to let the car go but have to to make way for my new project.
