Description
This WSC/Grand-Am Prototype was the only Buick Powered race car built during the Kudzu "DL" sequence. The KUDZU "DL" series was comprised of three cars, the other two were serial numbers 007 and 009 both powered by 3 rotor and 4 rotor Mazda powered powerplants respectively. This car was constructed with the very durable and cost efficient V-6 BUICK quite capable of competing with its much more temperamental and expensive counterparts. It is coupled to the well tested DGZ gearbox which many believe is over engineered for this application. Included in this package is a very extensive spares package. The spares include another Buick V-6, another totally re-built DGZ with new ring & pinion, new dogrings and new bearings, nose mold, spare nose, full suspension package, uprights, 18 BBS Centerlocks, and 2 rear carbon wings with side plates. In addition the car has a huge assortment of engine related spares, including blocks,and race prepared cylinder heads. The spares list is very complete. The car is HSR/NASA legal.
History
After construction at Downing Atlanta the car was raced on a limited schedule counting in its list of racers Ed Davin, Chris Sneider and Dennis D'Angelo. Since its last official race outing all the race systems have been replaced , rebuilt or quality checked for competition.
