1964 Lotus Ford Twin Cam Thick wall AX block and steel 82 mm crank, just re ground -10, -10 to provide a 2 litre TC. Project comprises Dry sump pan, 2 TC cams plus Ford jack shaft, front & rear covers, Early Lotus Cam cover and EIGHT PLUG Weber head. No Connecting rods or flywheel Believed ex Works project head for F2, Lotus 47, or perhaps Mk1 Lotus Cortina. 1558 Twin Cams devlop 180bhp, so a Two litre TC should develop over 210bhp, a twin plug head could make even more power ! MARKINGS on the Head are : Rear face of head G 410 LF 11038 On head gasket face, on exhaust side, cast in WM9403 26E 311 Stamped in N166 DTC 735 T3 same face, inlet side, stamped in V29 L Cam cover face is stamped, central adjacent plugs, twice CX Also adjacent to the thermostat housing is stamped 47
History
Works raced a Lotus 20 fitted with a 997cc 4 plug Lotus TC in October 1962 at Oulton Park driven by Brian Hart. Written up in Autosport the short piece was titled Formula Two Lotus for 1964. What was this 8 plug used for?
