Description
This 1999 Lola ChampCar was run by Payton/Coyne Racing and driven by Michel Jourdain Jr. It started life as a 1997 and was subsequently updated to the full competitive 1999 specification. The updates include complete aero and rear suspension. The car is currently run in Shell livery. Power is provided by a Cosworth XD while the gearbox is a six speed sequential. The car benefits from all of the features of the XD/XF/XFE fuel control including Automatic Boost Control and no lift to shift. The aero package is based on the specification rear wing with matching front wing. Top speed is in excess of 190 mph in this configuration. Car was purchased in 2010 and immediately underwent a full inspection and refit of major components by Andy Riggs of AR Racewerks LLC (7900 E. Greenway Rd 108, Scottsdale, Arizona 85260, 317.3318450). Cosworth V8 Engine is strong, and runs well. I have pdf files of the restoration and rebuild process that took place in 2011.
