Description
I have owned this car since 1990 and it has been garage kept since. The car was painted in '91 and has held up very well. It has a couple of stress cracks where the fiber glass fenders meet the body. The car has never been in any accidents. This is a Ford concept body that was designed by Ford in 1980. There has only been a few of these cars built. It has Ford Recaro seats. The interior is in very nice shape, no cracks or rips. It has a 4 point roll cage, Ford window louvers, came with Capri tail lights, Centerline rims, 15x8 front and 15x10 rear , Koni suspension, newer steering box, the motor has a HO 302, 650 double pumper performance manifold, underdrive pulleys, headers, 5 speed with Hurst shifter, 355 gears. I started to build it to race, but ended up keeping it as a road car. I have been told by many that it looks like the MAD MAX car. I know the car was sold out of Kolble Ford in NY and there was a 2nd one sold out of White Plains Ford in NY. One of them was part of the NY Auto Show before it was sold. I had found the 2nd black IMSA which had T-tops and bought that in the early 90s. Then it was sold to a Mustang collector in VA. You can see a 4 cylinder turbo version of the car in the March '1980 Car & Driver front cover.
