Description
This is a 1968 Corvette convertable race car. I was told that it started life as a L-88 radio delete. The first owner was making it into a race car and sold it to the second owner unconpleted. The second owner finished the car and raced it in SCCA Mid West. My dad bought the car in the fall of 1973. That year we took the car to the SCCA run offs in Atlanta with the previous owner as the driver. The car was repainted white with blue and red stripes for 1974 and raced in SCCA Mid-West finishing rookie of the year. The car was dissasembled and rebuilt for the 1975 year and painted Corvette Flame Red. The car had a GM wide front end put on around 1977. Then the GM wide rear panels were put on for 1978. The car competed in Trans Am and IMSA. The coupe body was fited around 1980 for racing at Daytona. This car raced in the Daytona 24 in 1982,83,84 and 85. It was then retired. There was a clean up and partial restoration done in 1986. Then the car sat on jacks and started ocasionaly untill 2011. We went through the car and prepared it for the Corvette Wourld Tribute and is regisered in the Corvette race car reegistery. This car is prety much as it was after finishing the 1985 Daytona 24.Same paint ,Engine, trans, ect. New radiator, fuel blatter and tires. We have many of the old race recordes and programs. Asking $98,000.
