Description
1969 Corvette, the third of three original Owens-Corning fiberglass racing team built Corvettes, built in the winter of 1970 from a recovered theft Tony Delorenzo bought from Don Yenko. Fully documented with a full and unbroken ownership chain (all previous owners still alive), period ADAC (the German SCCA) race results & pics, SCCA log books, period articles from Stars & striped newspaper. Originally raced in Germany 1971-1972 by Delorenzo`s friend and then Pan-Am pilot Curt Wetzel where it was known as the "psychedelic Corvette" due to it`s wild Randy Wittene (GM styling engineer & O-C team member) blue/white/purple paint.
History
Winner of the 50th anniversary of the AVUS track in Berlin Germany, won a 6 hour "Sundowner" at Mosport Canada 1973, top finishing Corvette (11th) at the 1973 "Paul Revere 250" at Daytona driven by Cam Champion, raced in SCCA by Robert Milliken & William Steiss, Larry Gross, Keith Berg and Mitch Poremba. Six time vintage race winner overall in group-6 at Road America with a fast lap of 2:25.0 in Sept `05.
