I have owned this car since a complete restoration by Horizon Racing in 2001 and have raced it up & down the West coast since 2002 and a trip to New Zealand in 2004 for the Southern Festival of Speed. It has been maintained by Racecraft out of Woodinville, WA. The motor was completely refreshed by Jay Ivey in 2018. The motor had a new short block in 2013 and then Jay added a new head in the 2018 build. Dyno sheets are available showing 189hp and 133lbs. The gearbox was refreshened by Jim Froula of Racecraft in 2019 and included several new gears and dog rings. And a new fuel cell was purchased in 2018 as well. Since the motor refresh it has seen limited racing due to health issues and COVID. My log book shows just over 10 hours on the motor in 5 race events. Recent compression test shows average of 178psi across all 4 cylinders.
The car was originally run by Peter Lawson in British Hill Climbs in 1966 & 67, from there it continued Hill Climbs until 1970 where it was used for circuit racing in the UK in the 70s & 80s. It was purchased by Michael Rigby out of Vancouver, BC in the 90s and raced by him. The car comes complete with a book of history showing ownership and various letters affirming it as a true Brabham.
